This site is intended to be usable by everyone, including people who browse with a screen reader, navigate by keyboard, or enlarge text substantially. What follows is a plain account of the standard applied, how it was tested, and what is known to fall short.
Standard
This site is designed to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA.
How it was tested
- Automated scanning with axe-core across four viewport widths, from 1280px down to 320px.
- Manual review at 200% zoom and at 400% zoom in a 320px viewport, checking that no content is lost and no horizontal scrolling is introduced.
- Contrast ratios calculated for every text and background pairing on the site rather than sampled. The lowest ratio in body copy is 6.0:1 against a Level AA requirement of 4.5:1.
- Text-spacing override testing, increasing line height, letter spacing, word spacing and paragraph spacing to the values WCAG specifies, confirming nothing clips or overlaps.
- Keyboard-only navigation of every interactive element.
Specific measures
- There is no motion, animation or automatic movement anywhere on this site.
- There is no carousel, no popup, no overlay and no time limit.
- Headings follow a logical order and every section is reachable by heading navigation.
- Lists are marked up as lists, so their length is announced.
- Visible focus indicators are provided for keyboard users.
- Body text is set at 17 pixels or larger, and the layout reflows to a single column without loss of content.
- Typefaces are served from this domain, so the site renders consistently without depending on a third party.
Known limitations
The downloadable board bio is a PDF. It is a tagged PDF with a document language and a described portrait, but its internal heading structure is flatter than the web page's, so navigating the PDF by heading is less useful than navigating this site. The PDF also gives specific performance figures that the main page summarises in general terms, so some of its detail is not on the web page. If you need that content and the PDF is a barrier, please say so and it will be provided in another format.
